Daniel Lyons - Lake Michigan, 95 Ft. Deep Lat. 44 40.14 N Long. 87 17.42 W Built: 1873 Sank: October 18, 1878
While carrying 20,000 bushels of wheat and bound for Chicago, on the night of October 18 1878 in heavy seas, the Daniel Lyons collided with the schooner, Kate Gillett and sank in 15 minutes. There was no loss of life as the Gillett rescued the eight crew members of the Lyons.
